New DOE-Verified E85 Stations

Recommended Posts

I receive monthly reports from DOE on stations that were added or deleted. They are gathered through various sources and verified by a DOE contractor. Their process is typically very slow, but thorough. I wanted to report that the following 19 stations were not located in the database.

We actually have the following:

-Meijer in Petoskey (the station address is on US-131, the grocery store address is the one you listed on Lears)

-Speedway in Merrillville (currently listed as Gas City - be sure to change it over)

-Speedway in Brookville (Dan, be sure to change this one from BrookFIELD as it is currently listed, to Brookville as Robert has it listed - this is likely why he didn't find it)

-Clark on Woodward in Detroit (currently listed as Sunoco - be sure to change it over)

I am in class until 2200 hours this evening, but I will try to add the coordinates and phone numbers after I get back to Lansing.

This one has my attention:

Raceco

4502 Indianapolis Blvd

East Chicago, IN 46312

219-398-2063

41.631882

-87.48126

According to Google Street view, this station is branded "GoLo". GoLo and another company named "Krist" are much like what Minnoco is. They are startup retail fuel chains, that have taken over stations with big oil brand names. GoLo has a ton of stations in my neck of the woods and over around the Windy City, and Krist has a number of stations in the upper peninsula and northern Wisconsin. I had assumed that neither one was interested in adding E85.

If this station is in fact carrying E85, and is still selling GoLo branded fuel, this is a big turning point. I now have my eyes on a GoLo station not far from one of the yellow hose stations in East Lansing. This was initially a Citgo many years ago, then a Clark station, and now apparently a GoLo station. Since it has become a GoLo, the diesel price has not been advertised on their street sign, and they've constantly had bags on the nozzles. Now not only do they have bags on the diesel nozzles, but they also have bags on the nozzles to a gasoline pump next to it. Perhaps they're waiting for warm weather? Stay tuned!
