Two new "first generation" ethanol plants on their way!

Recommended Posts

With corn prices in the dumps...  the "break even point" for building plants now looks much more doable for investors to build, so we are seeing some new plants in the works...  two I've read about recently are for South Dakota and southern Illinois.

the South Dakota one is much further along in the planning process, but still a ways off.  Good to see some new construction on the horizon.  It is neat to see how these new plants will be incorporating the latest practices and "bolt on technology" from the design phase...  which will make them actually cheaper to build, and more efficient to run.  It is just cool to see what had been experimental/pilot programs become industry standard.
