Help!

Recommended Posts

My husband and I recently purchased an E85 capable pickup and we are interested in trying it but we can't find a station near us. We are in south Okc and the only stations are far north and mwc. Does anyone know of any stations close by and, more importantly, is E85 going to provide me with improved mpg's. Is this a worth while effort?

Congrats on the new FFV.

E85 isn't going to get you better mileage, it usually is about 20% less.

... but since E85 is usually priced less than gasoline, it often will have about the same cost per mile, sometimes better, sometimes not, depending on the prices in your area. In the Midwest, we usually save money by fueling with E85.

Some of us buy E85 only for the reason that it supports American farmers, instead of terrorists. ;)

I've seen 10-15% less... but our e85 has been 20 to 28% less... until this last week... now 18% less... so according to my math, it still pays...

Even if it didn't' pay, I'd rather be supporting domestic industry, and American farmers, then international oil companies and foreign producers!

welcome to the ethanol community.  Give it a try.

As for locations, have you used the e85 prices page?  very good database of locations and good maps!
