EPA releases proposed 2015, 2016 RVOs
The Environmental Protection Agency has proposed ethanol Renewable Volumetric Obligation levels to be set at 13.4 billion gallons in 2015 and 14 billion gallons next year. The proposals for both years are lower than Renewable Fuel Standard statutory levels of 15 billion gallons required. "We believe these proposed volume requirements will provide a strong incentive for continued investment and growth in biofuels. But we must recognize real-world impediments to the growth of biofuels in the marketplace," said Janet McCabe, the EPA's acting administrator for the office of air and radiation. The EPA also proposed 2014 RVO levels.
