If I remember correctly, it was near 1,200 stations in mid-2007.  So in 3 years the # of E85 stations has nearly doubled.

At that rate of increase, in mid-2013 we could be at 4,700 E85 stations.

In mid-2016 we could be at 9,400 E85 stations.

In mid-2019 we could be at 18,800 E85 stations.

In mid-2022 we could be at 37,600 E85 stations!  Now, we could certainly replace a lot of foreign oil with the increased 1st and 2nd gen ethanol billions of gallons at that point!  If they average near 15,000 monthly gallons of ethanol sales, that would be over half a billion gallons of ethanol per month, and about 6 billion gallons of ethanol annually.   

Just imagine where we would be at further down the line were that trend to continue...not long before nearly all stations had E85 available.
