The Minnesota Vikings are teaming up with environmentally conscious partners and fans by presenting a “Go Green” initiative entitled “Vikings Purple Planet - Helping Sustain Vikings Country.”

The American Lung Association in Minnesota and the Minnesota Clean Air Choice Team are joining the Vikings to educate fans about the availability and benefits of E85 ethanol and flex fuel vehicles.

Beginning with tonight’s highly anticipated game against the Packers, E85 will become a regular at the games, on the Viking’s website and on radio broadcasts of the games.

Included in the promotion:

·         Vikings Road Trip Fueled by E85 – later this week visit http://www.vikings.com/fans/promotions/e85-promo.html to enter to win a trip to Soldier Field for the Vikings/Bears Monday Night Football game on December 28th.

·         Listen to radio broadcasts of the games to hear radio ads promoting the contest and the benefits of E85 ethanol.

·         The E85 Clean Burn Play of the Game during the post game show will highlight one of the most outstanding plays of the game.

·         E85 Parking Lot – the first 25 flex fuel vehicles to the Gold parking lot will receive FREE parking ($30 value) during each Vikings regular season home game – Look for parking attendants wearing Vikings/E85 co-branded vests.  Coming tonight?  Lisa and I will be there to greet you and will be handing out E85 goodie bags.

·         Title sponsor of the Vikings “Go Green” week’s Car Pool Purple Friday on October 16th.

Cheer on the Vikings and E85! Visit http://www.vikings.com/fans/promotions/e85-promo.html for more details and your chance to win a trip to Chicago for the Vikings/Bears Monday Night Football game!

Well, as a life long non Viking fan, well, um I suppose I can convert if they help promote E85 :) It is the cleanest liquid fuel avaible by far :). Last night's performance didn't hurt either. Call me a fuel-weather packer fan hehe

I was actually thinking a little differently- convert a D9 cat from from diesel over to E85. Park in their E85 lot and then use it to take down the Humpty-dumpty dome after everyone leaves. :P

Yeah, I hope they would not only allow a flex fuel conversion kit; but reward it also with a $7 beer and $5 hotdog...   ;D

After all, it shows additional dedication (and likely E85 fueling) and you had to actually buy the kit, while I didn't have to pay anything extra for my factory FFV.

True Corey but anything to get people thinking, talking FFVs and E85 is a positive
Too bad they can't say "first 25 vehicles actually using E85"

I guess the $30 value is a nice gesture, but for a franchise which rakes in multiple 100's of millions of dollars, gets the taxpayer to foot the bills for stadiums, improvements, roads & infrastructure around the stadiums, then charges $100/ticket, $30 parking, $7.00 beer, $5.00 hotdog, etc..etc....25 vehicles x $30 value = $750 bucks.  Wow  ::)
