Q. I just purchased a 2009 Ford . How can I check to see if it can run on E85 ?

 A. Look for a E85 Label inside your Fuel Door and or check your VIN number. Write down the 8th Character in your VIN number and check our VIN= above or call your local Ford Dealer. With that 8th character they will be able to tell you if your vehicle is a Flex Fuel .

Q. I just purchased a 2009 General Motors vehicle .How can I check to see if it is a FFV ?    

A. Part of General Motors Live Green Go Yellow campaign is that they have added Yellow Gas caps to all their 2006-2009 Models or check your VIN# for verification that the model you are looking at is in fact a FFV model.

General Motors and Ford - Half of Production will be FFV by 2012

General Motors declares that half their production will be FFVs by the year 2012

“We continue to believe that biofuels, specifically E85, is the most significant thing we can do in the near-term to offset future energy demands,” said Beth Lowery, GM vice president of Environment, Energy and Safety Policy. “We are on target to make 50 percent of our vehicles flex-fuel capable by 2012 providing the infrastructure is in place.”



Ford also says..Half Vehicle Production FFV (e85 capable) by 2012

 We have committed to doubling the number of FFVs in our lineup by 2010. Assuming continuing incentives that encourage the manufacture, distribution and availability of renewable fuels and the production of Flexifuel vehicles, we stand ready to expand FFV output to 50 percent of total vehicle production by 2012.
